Taxis from the airport take about 35 minutes and the fare is around 45 euros. There is a frequent bus service from Nea Makri to Athens taking one hour and costing 4 euros.

The town of Nea Makri has around 20,000 inhabitants and is situated in the historical gulf of MARATHON. There are many modern and traditional shops around the town square. Near the sea you will find restaurants, bars and traditional fish taverns.

Getting to us by car from Athens Airport:
:: On leaving the airport follow signs to Athens/Athina.
:: This will take you onto the motorway (for which the toll is 2.70 euro
:: Exit the motorway at Junction 15 - Marathon Avenue
:: At the junction turn right for Pallini
:: After 18km from junction 15 you will arrive in Nea Makri
:: Turn right at Geniki Bank (immediately before the town square) onto PLASTIRA
:: Drive down to the beach and turn left
:: At a sign for 'Hotel Thomas Beach', turn left, then turn left again.
